Default Chipped paint

Would chipped paint be a warranty item ? Someone kicked up rock and it hit my front bumper chipping my paint off , now it has gotten bigger cause its still flaking off like the paint didn't stick to the bumper .

They might cover it if it appears the adhesion is incorrect. if it is just a plain old stone chip they will not cover it.

Invest in some clear bra it will help preserve the notoriously chip prone paint. Rockblocker has a very good product.

If it is flaking off, then the paint was not applied properly and should be covered under warranty.

This will depend soley on your dealership. Probably not though, but good luck

well ive had my 05 for about 9 months and theres chips everywhere stock paint sucks and im not goin to bother complaining cause i dont want the same crappy paint beeing applied so im goin to wait till next year and get a quality paint job and then do the clear bra, but i know some people arent in positions to dump a couple grand to get the car painted but i highly doubt the dealership will do anything for you about that.. but good luck anyways i may be wrong

Wouldn't hurt to try, expessially since it is flaking off. a stone chip should be just that a small mark. Your paint should not be pealing away.

yea, i'd just do the best you can. Then when the time is right, maybe get a repaint of the front end and do a rockblocker purchase/install. Stuff looks good....except on white cars. I think it's too noticable on white cars (again, just my opinion)

How much (on average) is the rock blocker purchase/install?

Are there regional installers or do you have you find your own?

That's the one problems with Imprezas. The stock paint sucks. Great colors, just crappy paint.

Yup...the paint SUCKS on these cars. I think it is MUCH worse on the plastic pieces. This is one of the worst parts of owning a white STi for me. The black plastic easily shows through /

As I was washing and waxing over the weekend I notice little bubbles on my passenger side front and rear doors . I looked a little closer and you can tell that the door had been repair cause they didn't sand the bondo very well, didn't notice this when I went to buy it from the dealer, as a matter of fact the carfax said no accidents or anything like that . So I took it to a local dealer and he said they were book up for the day , but I had the service writer look at it anyway and he said it looked like something they would take care of since it still under warranty , he just needed the tech to take a look it, so I made an appointment for this friday . We'll see how it go's !
