Default Tire Warranty

Hello all. just figured out how to do donuts in my stock 05 Sti. well my question has to do with tire warranty. Does anyone know what they look for on the stock tires regarding warranty? I only have 4k miles on them. I want to keep doing donuts/Drfits and before my warranty is up i'll just take them to the dealer and get new ones (I hope). Also, how many miles are the tires covered upto?

Um, I don't think the tires are covered under the warranty. The only wear item that I know of that are covered under warranty are the brake pads/shoes, wipers, and clutch disk/linings, and these are covered for 3 years/36k miles.

The tires carry thier own separate warranty from Bridgestone...and I'm pretty sure if you show up with 4 bald tires, they're going to assume it wasn't a defect in the tires!

I had to respond to this, Tires have their own warranty separate from the vehicles, as mccullp stated.
Guys like you are the reason that car manufacturers are cracking down and looking for fraud in performance car repair, as well as generally increasing the hassle factor of warranty coverage in general. To even think that a shop would be so stupid to even consider replacing a bald tire caused by abuse is absurd, not to mention the excessive wear and tear on those components that you're also beating into the ground, which I'm sure you'll be bad-mouthing Subaru about when they break.

I am aware that the tires have their own warranty. I wasnt planning to take the tires in bald just a little wear or low tread. I was planning to tell them that i go off roading a lot and drive in the snow too. I mean isnt that what the car (along with the tires) is built for?

Also, I can care less what the manufacturers think. Keep in mind that their frist goal is to make profits and keep them. So, any type of warranty work they can avoid doing by simply saying "unusual/unrecommened driving has occured" they would. It is our job as consumers to challenge their reasons behind warranty coverage;along w/ expecting and demanding proper customer service.

Lol, of course their goal is to make profits, how else do businesses survive? It is our job to challenge their reasons when they don't live up to their warranty, but not by doing drifting and donuts and then expecting them to replace our tires because we used up all the tread too fast. The warranty's are there to cover defects, like when the tire comes apart when it isn't suppose to. If you want to play, you have to pay.

Another thing to note, is the RE070's probably don't have a mileage warranty anyway. I remember when the Integra Type-R's first came out, they noted right in the brochure that the tires were 'high-performance, summer-only tires', and might last 10,000 miles at best...or significantly less...I imagine the same applies here.

Thumbs down

Hahaha, this thread is retarded. The warranty is not on tread life. Read the freakin warranty. It covers any defects in the tire. Grow up!

I'm sorry but this is one of the most dishonest things I've read here. You want to rape your car and tires? Fine, just pay for what you break/burn up. Yes the STi is made to be driven but the dealership isn't there to pay for your joyriding.

I'm closing this thread before it becomes a flamefest.
