You should be running your tune so i wouldn't flash back. The dealer will probably see your mods and say something like, " You made your car fast, so you now have to brake harder, using more brake pad." No new pads for you.... Good luck! |

This is not true, and a call to SOA cleared that up fairly quickly. I then had to go in for an inspection, where the service manager took a picture of each of my rotors (that was all they looked at, took all of about 30 seconds). apparently they look for signs of extreme wear (discoloration of the rotors, crosshatching, etc.). at that point they have to get the work approved by soa, for me it took a couple days. i'm of the mentality that it's always better to be up front than try to hide things, since doing so is generally regarded as an attempt to cover something up. If you take good care of your car and haven't been tracking it or abusing it you should be fine. Good luck |

| Lurker | here is the thing at a dealership wat they have is a special mods form which at anytime u bring ur car in they fill this form out send it to SOA which notifys them that basically u have parts that could decrease the life of your Factory parts llike demonrage said the best thing to do is be up front and honest thats the only way cause if u lie SOA will never warranty or actually goodwill anything for you there is more ways than u think to find out why your pads have wore down so quickly trust me im a subaru technician in shreveport,La and they dont do it under warranty they goodwill it because the law states if they warranty the parts they acknowledge that the part is defective and from then on they will have to pay for the parts for the life of the car but most of the time if your honest they will pay for it all on some occasions they will split the bill u just have to be honest its very important |

| Junior STI Driver | When you do brakes you do them evenly. You don't only replace one side and not the other becauses its simply not just worn down enough. besides brake pads are sold in sets of 2, atleast all the ones I bought. Now you can replace the fronts and not the backs but you should still have the back brakes bleed. Honestly you should really flush the entire system. |

What law states that if they replace a part on a car, they have to keep replacing it for life? Your states? I know it sure isn't SOA. A Goodwill repair under warranty is still warranty as SOA paid the claim for that repair under warranty. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. | |
