IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I got an oil change yesterday and I brought in my own case of Mobil 1 (6 quarts). I get the car back and there is one qt left. I check the oil level and it is quite a bit above the F line. The book says to put 4.1 qts and I called the dealer back and he said they typically put 4.6-4.8 qts. Any opinions? I'm pretty annoyed and going back today so they can drain the excess out. What damage could be caused by an extra qt? This ad is not endorsed by this member. I've only had the car for 2 months so this was my first oil change. I would change it myself, but I live in a condo in CA, so I have limited resources for doing things myself which sucks. |

The good places will give you back the 0.2 qt so you know they did it right. I also can't be bothered changing my own oil when I can pay someone else to do it for me. Plus, all my records are updated to MySubaru so I don't have to waste time logging that stuff, either. The convenience makes a difference when you're a grad student and can barely find time to feed yourself. |

| Amateur STI Driver | Dude... Your a asshole.... You don't deserve to drive a subaru. Go buy another VW you freak. 4.2 quarts huh? and you only put in 4 quarts. Let me guess,, you didn't change the filter... It's fine if the oil is a cunt hair over the line. It's not going to do anything, your gonna loose it in a few miles anyways.. People make me sick.. Oh and go read some more posts on how to change oil.... Are you serious????? reading a post on how to change oil.. The subaru community is falling apart due to a invasion of flip flop wearing metrosexuals... You show me on a bottle of castrol GTX "real oil" where it says .9 .... get a life you morons... Do you bring your STI back if the air in the tires are low? How about if that turbo is a bit too loud, do you ask the dealer to turn the volume down?? ![]() .....be sure to tell your dealer that when you go in reverse, you're getting reverse boost. | |
