IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Whenever I go over any uneven pavement I hear a really loud rattle from the dash. Sounds like that coin tray by your left knee is full of pennies and they are all rattling around. Well I emptied the tray and it still does it. Car is stock and dash has not been removed or messed with...anyone else have this rattle? This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | Mine is definitely inside the car...something on or behind the dash. I've felt around whenever going over bumpy stuff and have yet to locate it... Maybe it is specific to my car... |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I have that rattle.. with about 6 more from various places.. My whole roof liner creaks like its gonna fall in on me, the piller on the driver side makes noise, my glove box creaks and the coin tray area... Don't get me started Don't get me wrong, I love the car and I know its not meant for luxury or creature comforts.. But I don't feel it should rattle like a 72' Ford Pinto... I'd take it to the dealer, but every time I get someone to listen to help diagnose, it doesn't make a peep, my tuner, the dealership after a alignment, friends etc.... figures! |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2003 Trader Rating: (1) | I have an ongoing rattle/tap kind of sound that comes from this spot. If I jam an empty pack of gum in the red circled gap, it goes away. I'll have to figure out a permanent solution. ![]() I also get a rattle from the right rear deck where the upper part of the seatbelt anchors. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | This is a common problem that just about everyone has, including me! I've taken it too the dealership a couple times for them to fix it and they havn't been able to. I told them the RATTLE was at #2 area. They found a SWEAK in area #1 and fixed that (which I could have done easily) In order to fix #2 rattle, I think you have to take the entire dash out. Let me get back to that later... If you have a sweak/rattle in area #1, it's most likely the black plastic Triangle cover in the corner of the door. You can just pop that off, sand down the bottom and pop it back on. The bottom seems to rub against the top of the black plastic part of the door. Plastic on plastic is never a good idea! Now back to my MAIN rattle that DRIVES ME NUTS which is in area #2. I have taken the plastic pillar molding off and poped up the long plastic vent cover right along the front windshield. Even after doing all of that, the rattle is still there which tells me that the problem is actually underneath the dash. I haven't gone as far as to start to loosen bolts on the dash but I'm getting there. I have been driving around for the last few weeks with the A pillar plastic cover off and the long plastic vent cover poped up. I have played around with all the pieces while it's been ratteling and nothing stops it unless you actually PUSH/PULL on the entire Dash itself. The problem is sometime's it's VERY loud and constent, other times it's not even there, and other times it only does it once and a while.... Honestly, I have beaten/smashed that dash with my fist in ANGER a few times due to this rattle... Especially on a long road trip where that's all I can hear no matter how loud I have the music turned up! I think there was a fix on NASIOC somplace but can't find it... EDIT: Found some threads of interest! Persistant Driver Side Dash Rattle - Solved! - NASIOC Last edited by JAYMAC10; 08-07-2008 at 08:00 AM. |

There is a write up I believe..here it is:How To: Stop Rear View Mirror Rattle The rattles might be also comeing from wires/ harness that might have come detached from a stay clip??? |
