Default Headunit Broken (Round 2)

This is more a information/releasing ague thread. When i first bought my 07 STi back in March the head unit would not take cds or eject them. I didn't even think to test the radio at the dealership thinking since it had 5K miles on her it would be OK. I bought the car in NJ but live in PA, so i took the car to my local dealership and they fixed the head unit of course free of charge and without issue. Its being working great since that day till now.

I sent out my interior parts to get converted to red LEDs and i re-install the head unit and what do you know, the thing starts doing the same thing. But this time i have 6 cds in it and they would come out. This was last Friday night. I was leaving for vacation on Sunday morning bright and early. I still had my Ipod so it really wasn't a big deal. Fast forward to today, i made an appointment Thursday to take her in and they had the first spot open for today (Friday) great.

I hate having other people work on my car because they just don't have the passion i do and they are just way to pushing with my stuff. So i went ahead and took out all the interior pieces they would need to remove to get the head unit out so they couldn't really break anything, I'm also going to paint the interior panels. So I'm waiting in the room for about 20 mins when the front deck woman calls me up and says, "Mr. Luisi, we called SOA and they are going to cover your head unit to get fixed but next time they wont." I said why, they said you have aftermarket parts installed and your dash is all ripped apart. So i proceed to ask what she meant by aftermarket parts,(I only have a COBB stage 1 flash and a-pillar gauges. I have COBB up-pipe, TBE and Kartboy shifter siting in my room) She says your a-pillar gauges are aftermarket and you shouldn't have them.

I was so pissed i didn't say a work and just left. I was just so shocked that they could try and link those two together. I didn't tap the head unit for power or anything like that. The head unit still works fine just without the cd part.

Sorry to hear your troubles. As much as I love Subaru products, I must admit thier customer service, and mod sticknesss sucks to the extreme! They pretty much try everything to deny warranty work. I hate SUbaru's policies!

I use to own a 02' Pontiac Ram Air Trans Am WS6 and it was highly modified, anytime I went to the dealer for warranty work (alot) I never had them ask any questions, or even hassle me, and I didnt buy that car new, it was used with low miles.

You should contact SOA regarding this issue. It sounds like harrasment to me.
