30K - Inspect Drive Belt

I'm compulsive about making sure things get done right, and yet I am not experienced working on cars except for oil changes and tire rotation.

In the 30K Service, it says to Inspect Drive Belts. The 07 Impreza manual does not reference "drive belt". It does refer to V-belts and a Timing Belt. Clarification of my ignorance would be much appreciated.

How many drive belts are there, where are they, and how do I check them? I saw 2 at the front of the car. I've read about belt tension gauges in the manual, but I do not know if this applies.

V belts are drive belts which is also known as serpentine belts.

The manual does not mention any of the belts turning on by themselves. Is there a danger of them turning with the car turned off?

I am going to inspect the drive belts and was curious if anything around them could turn on with the engine off.
