Default Think my claim will be honored?

I have LOW compression on one of my cylinders on my 07 sti
Car will be completely stock as far as the motor goes when I bring it in but it will have the following:
Bunch of suspension work (coilovers, sways, alk, bushings, etc)
Wheels/tires
Carbon trunk
6 puck clutch

I think that's it, and I'm not worried about anything except for maybe the clutch. Think they will try to say something about that? I doubt it but I just want to make sure. Oh, and my APv2 will be unmarried, is there any way for them to detect that it once had one?

IIRC, they cant detect and AP if it was installed or uninstalled, but they can tell if the computer had been reflashed. I dont think you have anything to worry about, but Im no the dealer. Good luck!

You say "will be" as if it wasn't. Many techs can tell if you removed a part to swap in say a stock one. Good luck.

if the car is stock as far as the motor goes you should be fine, your suspension warranty is shot though

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. It helps protect consumers from non warranty coverage. Basically, the dealer needs to prove that the modification is the cause for the damage. That sometimes is easier said then done. This was enacted so manufactures would have to warranty a product if it was altered by using non manufacture parts, that were equal to oem parts. So for example if your car uses Denso Iridium plugs, and you replace them with AC Delco iridium plugs, a company does not have to honor the warranty if the engine blows up, because it has been altered. of course it would not be the plugs fault. A long time ago companies would conduct business like this. The act was created to protect consumers from such wrong doings. The company has to prove the part was the cause of the failure, the burden of proof is on them. The only problem is they do not have to do the work, you may be forced to go to another dealer. But they cannot void your warranty, if they do that take them to court. of if they do not want to do your warranty work, ask them to put it in writing that the modification caused the failure, with their supporting evidence. I bet they wont do that. so easy victory for you in court.

good luck

The dealer can not void a claim due to abuse/modifications. SOA can and they are a much bigger entity. Also there does not have to be concrete proof but more so of evidence beyond reasonable doubt. People have gone to jail for murder when there never was a body.

Thats why you take them to court. Certain mods are easy to make claims they cause the damage, and others are not. Also the dealer doing the repair is the key player, you can have your car heavily modified, SOA on gets what the repair shop says, if they say it has not been modified you will get it repaired under warranty. So the repair shop is key. Also, what I noticed is that aftermarket warranties can sometimes come in handy for this, as repair shops like to get paid, instead of reimbursed from the manufacturer.

Just remember, SOA has major law firms on retainer. So it will cost the customer more money to take them to court. Now if the customer loses and SOA is cleared, they have billed the customer their legal fee's in the past. Just something to know if you really plan on taking it to that level. If you cry Lawyer, better be ready to use them, they already have theirs.

The clutch shouldn't void your warranty, but it may certainly cause them to look for other things they may have neglected. Also, they won't notice your clutch until they pull your engine and at that point they may be able to deny any more warranty work under the reasoning that maybe you were deceptive...but only if they can make a reasonable argument that you modified the engine. I really don't know though.
