Default Trunk hing mechanism broken Subaru can't find correct part!

This is part of the torsion system that has to do with the opening and closing of the trunk. I noticed that my trunk was closing a little differently and found a small piece of metal on the trunk floor. My local subaru dealer can't find the correct part, so now they are going to take the assembly apart and do some welding. Has anyone else had this problem? It is under warranty, but I don't know about welding vs. finding the correct part. I am still waiting to hear if they will give me a loaner car. What do you think? The first picture shows the missing piece and the second is the part intact.
