Default Warranty clutch replacement, well done Stevens Creek

I've read a lot of negative comments about Stevens Creek Subaru but I feel I need to let everyone know what a great job they did today replacing my 24k clutch under warranty. Their service department personnel were very courteous, they gave me a ride home, called me promptly when completed and made me feel like they were going out of their way to make sure I was happy. My car has obviously been on the track and has decals everywhere but it hasn't been abused by high revving and dropping the clutch to spin the wheels, it's not my intention to break anything. This is pretty much normal wear and Stevens Creek Subaru stepped up and took care of it.

I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to others.

When I bought my 07 STi, the sales doofus said something like, "You know if you bring it in with a burnt clutch, Subaru will not fix it." He referred to the many kids that have abused cars, install aftermarket parts and expect full warranty coverage.

I'm a middle-aged cop, and of course when I bought the car I didn't think I would be modding this car at all, so I didn't give it much thought. I went AP stage 1 before it was even broken in.

I'm about to go to AP stage 2, at 6000 miles and the car has yet to go back to the dealer. If it ever does need a clutch it's going back, because I'm not abusing this car.

That's pretty amazing that they didn't give you crap about tracking the car and getting it fixed under warranty.

Yep,the clutch was slipping when I floored it in third. Hate the smell of burning clutch in the morning.

I imagined they would take issue with me burning the clutch and I had alternative solutions in mind. I bought my car at Carlsen in Redwood City so I was going to try them next. I live in Santa Clara so it was more convenient to try Stevens Creek first. The other alternative was to buy a clutch and have them install it free with a bit of negotiation. Fortunately it wasn't necessary and Stevens Creek were very civil about the whole matter.

I think part of it is the attitude one has when going into the dealership with such an issue. I went in with a smile and positive thoughts and came out very satisfied.
