Default Clunking when turning help!

Okay, So I have a 06 wrx sti, when I am turning going slow or starting off it sounds like there is a clunking noise and its pretty loud and annoying! So I went to Irvine Subaru and they said I needed fluid in my Rear Diff. They did that and it still did the same thing so they ordered a new Rear Diff and put it in. I picked up my car and it was still making the same noise so I took it back and they told me they installed a defective Rear Diff. They told me it was okay to drive while they ordered a new one, so I did and I came back when the other one was there and they said now I needed a Rear Diff sensor replaced. So they replaced the Rear Diff sensor and the Rear Diff. And it still did the noise. So they told me I needed a new Central Diff. They ordered that and put it in and it still does it. So does anyone have any suggestions I can tell them to do to my car? I havnt had my car in foreverrrrr. Help please!

Just from reading I know never take your car to Irvine Subaru. I've read so many bad reviews about them and I live on the other side of the country.

Anyway it may be your struts, axle nuts, or CV joints. Have you tried running the DCCD in any other position besides auto? Try running it in every position and if it still makes the same noises I doubt it's your diffs.

Okay, Ill try that. They called today and said my Transmition mounts are to big or something because they are the SPT ones instead of the stock STi ones so there taking the SPT and putting the STI ones on right now hopefully it does something

Wow that's rediculous... it seems like they have no idea what they're doing. I agree with V8, it might be loose endlinks or axle nuts. Keep us posted.

So i got my car back and it doesnt really do it anymore. They said my SPT Transmition Mount was what was causing the noise. They said it doesnt work for my car or something like that?

I was actually told that same thing when my syncros blew out of 5th gear. I have the Group-N trans mount and the senior tech at my stealership told me it pushes the trans higher up into the tunnel which caused my syncros to wear out. I'm pretty sure he's full of it but I did notice that the trans sits higher with the Group-N mount than it does with the stock one.

Yeah, the noise isnt really there anymore so Im guessing they fixed it either by replacing that or doing something else.

go to south coast subaru for the better mechanic. Go to Renick for better customer service & no hassle about aftermarket parts. Never go back to Irvine.

Never go to Irvine Subaru. No one's story about them can top mine. It was horrific.
