Default Simple extended warranty question

I bought my car used in September of 06. The car has an inservice date of 10/30/03. When I bought the car I got a 5yr/100K extended warranty.

My question is, does the extended warranty go from the inservice date or the date I purchased the car?

The Extended warranty starts after the factory warranty expires or at 100k miles. Being you bought it just before the factory one expired, it started in Oct 06.

You'd better call the dealer or the warranty company to clarify. (Is it a "Subaru Added Security" plan?) With the Subaru plan, the coverage starts on the day the car was originally put in service. So the 5/100k would be the factory warranty + two more years, or 100k miles, whichever comes first. Kind of misleading imho, but the plans seemed to be named with the intention that you buy them with the car new, so that makes a little more sense.

Did you buy the warranty or did the car come with it? The 5/100 is kind of an oddball plan, unless the car already had like 60k on it when you bought it, or the original owner was planning on driving 20k/yr.

But then there are plenty of third parties selling extended warranties, so you could have something entirely different.

Yes, there are 6yr/100k miles. The warranty date begins on the in-service date, but it's coverage technically begins the day the factory warranty ends.
