It probably depends on the dealer. Warranty was up for me when I went in with the knocking and they found one to be faulty but replaced them both. They did it at no charge citing the fact that this is a known problem (not sure of the technicalities there). My car's an '04 though.

Back about 8months ago I had my rear struts replaced they had been knocking 4months into the car, I thought it was from my driving habbit, no charge under warrenty. Since then now my fronts are acting up actually the front right, but in anycase I just made an appointment after reading this thread and reminding my self about it. i didn't know it was such a problem with the sti's. glad I'm having my fixed now before its to late.. I'm curious to know if any 07's have this problem. every other year has it so far I can see.

I am bringing mine in for the same problem this week and the dealership will be covering it under the warranty.

Yep its offical I called yesterday made an appointment for today and they even had a wrx loaner!! Wish we could have sun roofs

i wish...last time I got stuck with a beat down large chevy pickup. hopefully they'll give me a decent car when I take mine in.

What is the cheap route? We replace the strut mounts if they are bad.

Cheap route being greasing them up and sending me on my way for a month of use before the knock comes back.
