Default Loud pop under car

I took my car through a touchless carwash today even though it's -10 degree celcius (14 degree Fahrenheit)....I know I shouldn't have but it was caked in salt.

Drove home on the highway and later went to the gym.

After the gym, I got in my car and it wouldn't move...felt like the e-brake was engaged...would rock forward a tiny bit but it was locked in place.

I gently gave it more gas and all of a sudden there was really loud pop under my car (middle - to rear) and then I was good to go.

Any ideas? Could I have caused any damage?

Yep x3, I've had it happen to me a bunch of times this winter. Just leaving it in gear w/o the brake will help.

your parking prake is the rear brake.

when breaks are applied with the pedal, the rear brakes are hardly used.

+1 on leaving it in gear without the brake set, this avoids in the cold weather.

same thing happens after you wash your car by hand it rusts and sticks together. After you disengauge the park break its still stuck together and it has to break apart
