Clean oil of the proper weight isn't going to kill your throttle response. Unless you do something dumb like put in 90wt. I've gone back and forth between dino and synth just to see if there was a difference and in 3000 miles the biggest difference was on my bank statement.

I'm pretty sure brand wouldn't make a difference unless it was really bad. This was "reputable" dealer we're talking about. Since I didn't drive the car, I'm going by my bro's words.

I know a LOT of you guys use synthetic, but as long as I have a warranty, I'm not going to push my luck.
first 10k miles the dealer uses DINO oil, but every oil change after that they use synthetic.

What dealer do you go to Justin? That's first time I've heard that.

Might want to read it again. I just pulled up an owners manual off my TIS system and it doesn't say that. It just states that you need to use the right viscosity and frequency of changes.

My tuner who is reputable in the area told me "Never put Synthetic oil in a Subaru"

Thats good enough for me.

There are plenty of people running Synthetic oil in their Subaru's without any problems. As long as you change the oil regularly, you won't have any issues. It is possibly one of the most debated topic out there.

I have been doing synthetic all the way with no problems. The better oil the better protection you get, Simple as that.
