IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | i received a 37.5 month service letter from suby. the maintenance manual states that this service consists of replacing engine oil and filter as well as checking/rotating the tires. (SUBARU.COM : OWNERS : SCHEDULES: include/2005myfed.html). does this service require a "test drive" of the car by subaru? should i go to the local suby service location or to my tuner? i am protuned stage 2. The reason behind the question. The subaru place is closer and I won't miss time from work. HOWEVER, last time i went to the suby place for only an oil change I noticed when i picked up the car that 3 miles were put on the car and that the defi gauges read a max of 21 psi! I am not sure that i want these people touching the car when they have a history of driving recklessly through the city. the other alternative is going to the tuner, but they are out of the way and i will miss time from work.thanks for answering the poll and any comments here are welcome. IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | this is probably the best bet... one thing to consider, if i do it this way, i will lack the paperwork to prove i did this service if i ever sell the car... but, i am not sure if i am ever going to sell the car, so that may not be an issue. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | WTF?! Dude there is no reason for them to have driven your car for 3 miles for an oil change. I would never go back to that place again! |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | true true. the problem is that they are the only suby service place w/in the city. others are way inconvenient and it would be impossible to drop the car off and go to work... and it isnt like these guys work on the weekends... |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2007 Trader Rating: (1) | Have you asked them about it? I personally have major OCD about giving my car to anyone. Like valets, oil change people, etc. I cant really explain why, i am not really scared that they will break something, its more like knowing that someone i don't know has possession of my things gives me major anxiety. |
