Angry Warranty Voided only after 2800 miles

I have only had the car 6 weeks (2800 miles) and when leaving for work last week the car came out of second gear when accelerating, and would never go back in to anything below 3rd. Do the warranty thing and then go to pick the car up today to find out that they have voided my future transmission warranty, and that the car is continually leaking boost from some hidden location that they are not fixing as the car is still generating at least 12.5psi of boost, thus "no" performance loss, and now how the continual hissing under power is a "normal" noise from standard operation of an STi. I love how they simply wrote on the receipt to say its abuse and never told me in person or on the phone, which is rubbish as I haven’t done any modds or even pushed the car hard as its barely broken in. The mechanic went for a ride with me to show me how the noise is “Normal” while also demonstrating exceptional driving by missing multiple shifts with the new transmission and helping me out by burning a couple thousandths of tread off the tires. How can I get them to honor their warranty and also fix the leak they caused in the intake? Or am I just screwed??? Hey at least it looks like they spent some money on fixing it this time as im sure it was their last.

Both of those sheets of paper came from the dealership, not SOA. Call Subaru of America and ask them and explain to them that they are welcome to inspect the car at any time for modifications or abuse. The dealership may be pulling a fast one.

This would be my first call. Take out a claim number and work with Subaru to resolve this problem. Then if they are still not helpful time to discuss your options with a lawyer.

Sounds like the stealership doesn't want to put in the time to fix it so they just said screw it. Any stealership absolutely has to have a Subaru regional rep investigate the car before they can void a warranty on abuse!!

Call SOA and give them all of the info you have and also tell them that you may contact a lawyer if you need to.

That's just plain rediculus. Fight it. They shouldn't be able to do that. I agree the dealership is just trying to screw you. I wouldn't be suprised if SOA says to deny warranty if there are ANY signs of a reason to because it saves them money. They make their money on people like this that don't second guess when they say they aren't fixing their car anymore.

Give SOA a call before you do anything. If that doesn't work, threaten with a lawsuit, and take action if necessary.

seriously, what is the point of this post? that is an obvious typo. if you don't want to help, or at least teach the proper use of their/there/they're, don't post.

I agree that you should call SOA. Do it now, as you want to address this before it could be consutrued that you "accept" the statement at the end of their service report.

Guys - if you read the link, you note that they are making fun of the Subaru service tech who entered the information onto the service report. They are NOT making fun of the user.

First, a dealer can not void a warranty claim due to abuse. They can deny service, but that also gets SOA involved. Only SOA can deny the claim. Only SOA can deny future warranty coverage on specific items, not the dealer.

I would not get a lawyer or even mention it yet as you might screw yourself when they call your bluff. Remember they haven't denied anything yet just the dealer, so why threaten a large corporation that has lawyers on retainer with a lawsuit when you never gave them a chance to even look at the problem. They have the money to take it right back to you.

I would contact SOA about the problem and have them look into it and also explain both problems you are having. Give them a chance first to do their job before you do something you may regret and then no dealer can help you.
