Saw this thread this morning. I have this Exact problem!!!! or I should say had!!!! Took care of it at work today. We have a pit. Went under the car looking for two lines..... found them.........reached up and moved them a bit ,and sure enough "clank clank" EUREKA!!!!

........BUT my bolt wasn't loose, it was just that the bracket itself is hitting the crossmember or "whatever" it runs along. The bracket holds the lines together, but is merely resting on said cross member. When I go over bumps or potholes it bounces around hitting that cross member. So I put a piece of 1/8" thick rubber neoprene between it and the cross member. My Ride home was

although this is probably only a temporary fix because the rubber is like 2" from a heatshield. but I going to keep my eyes open for a permanent fix. Maybe a little exhaust heat wrap?

Thanks Alot!!! This took care of the clanking when I go over bumps and potholes. Seems it was also the cause of some rattling too, which is also gone!!!!

You rock!!!

hello, yes I also have noise at the dash and under car.The dealer has yet to resolve,I believe but yet to concur is the p/s lines both metal and the hoses need to be secured properly, the bracket at the subframe is insufficient. Also the coupling from the steering rack to the colunm seems a bit soft for the appilcation,(inherant desgin deffect?),it's translating whatever slop there is and amplifying through the dash(@24k,kilometers it's more prevlent than before;meaning when new,day one)Anyway good luck with the problem.Happy motoring
