IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Hi, I finished the install of a Perrin Equal Length Header and Ultimate Racing Gated Up-Pipe. The link below will take you to a High Definition video comparing the new install to the stock header. The file is HUGE (292 meg). I don't have streaming video so you must right click on the link and "Save Target" to you computer. High Def (292 meg) http://n8rws.com/Perrin.wmv Standard Def (76 meg) http://n8rws.com/Perrin and ewg 3 Mbps.wmv FYI... the sound change is a bit of a down-grade in my opinion but so far, the performance gains (more air is flowing through engine) will make it worth while. | Platinum Member | Downloading now - fast server, I'm getting a little over 1mb/sec! Edit: Good "comparison" video. Wish you had gotten more of the EWG action in there but a good comparison video none the less. My HKS Carbon-Ti got loud and raspy as crap when I swapped to the Perrin header as well. I ended up buying a Greddy SP2 catback and it quietened it down just right. Nice car mang. Last edited by JPWEraser; 09-30-2007 at 09:43 PM. |

Regarding the gated up-pipe... when I get my wide band 02 back from repair, I will make a "in cabin" video of a complete 4th gear pull and post it. I will also try to get an "out of car" drive by with the gate open... I was real surprised with the sound. I expected it to be like my old drag bike on open headers but it actually sounds like someone opened the valve on 100psi of compressed air and let it blast out a 1" pipe... all that noise with a hint of turbo...

I made 330/390 with the stock header and up-pipe (on VP MS109 fuel). When I get my wide band o2 meter back from repair, I plan to re-tune with the Perrin and gated up-pipe. I will post the result but considering that I made two mod's at same time, we will never know the impact of each mod (header / gated up) separately.

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | first off. let me say thank you for putting in the work on making this video.. i must admit. this is the first time i heard equal length headers and i like stock better.. it is just too too much can sounding IMO. im thinking its megan catback. I think if you can, try it with a different axleback and see how much it changes. you know a quick swap with a buddie or something. i'd wait again for the 4 hr download to watch the clip..lol... good job and thank you |
