| Amateur STI Driver | Thought some of you might like a comparison between the sound with the stock manifold and with a perrin header. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrLasJvUwZE This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (5) | It sounds WAY different. I love the rumble, but I think I like performance more than sound and doesn't that header stay way cooler and weigh less? |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 Trader Rating: (8) | wow i love the rumble but it sounds soo much better with the equal length on in this video IMO. before the header it sounds like its missing or has an exhaust leak almost.. all kinds of pops and farts on decel. sounds way smoother and more like a high performance auto with the equal length |

| Amateur STI Driver | Thanks for all your comments. I also miss the rumble a little, but I still think it sounds great. I was afraid it would sound like any other four cylinder, but it definitely doesn't, still very unique. All of my friends appealed to me not to change it because it was, "the best sounding 4 banger ever," (they're all gm/lsx guys) but the consensus is that its now the second best sounding four banger ever(to my car before). "Not quite as raw, not as mean, but good, almost exotic." So, would I do it again, hell yeah, sounds good, feels torquier, less drone on the highway, I just can't wait to get protuned, less than 2 weeks. And yes, i can see the comparison to the 4g63, it weighed much less than the stock manifold, and I respect all of your opinions. |
