IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 Trader Rating: (1) | well, im pretty mellow when it comes to cars. i like to keep my car as daily as possible, but still get some fun out of it. i used to have a SPT 3 inch exhaust with a 3 inch high flow catted DP. while it made good sound, and power, it was still too loud for me at times. after researching, i found that i would try my current setup, and i love it: its a OEM STi cbe with the oakos shorty Downpipe and the OEM 3rd cat off the stock downpipe. i have to say, the sound is noticeably louder, but not by much. at a cruising speed, you cannot hear it. even during light to mild acceleration its pretty quiet. when u lay on it, you can hear the rumble, but its still fairly muffled. I would have to say this is the PERFECT exhaust setup for anyone wanting to go stage 2, but not wanting to get hassled by police or have an exhaust that is too loud for them. you can find the video clip here: Subie TV please let me know what you think. i would LOVE a HKS carbon Ti, but damn they aint cheap, and the police around here are cracking down any ANY exhaust that is NOT stock.... kinda another reason i like my OEM Cbe ![]() btw. i got the STi cbe for $70 and used my stock 02 midpipe, stock Downpipe, and the oakos shorty i got for $110 used here on nasioc. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | That is the exact setup I have wanted to do for a long time, but have been too busy with school so I've kept my car stage 1 with STi axleback. Gotta love it. Props on the setup! |
