Default A quick video of my gt35r sti breaking in the new motor on wastegate boost

I made this little video this morning... I've been breaking in my new built motor for the last week or so, and finally started giving it wastegate boost (1 bar). This is a really conservate tune, low 11 afr's and a lot less timing than I used to run, with the avcs map zeroed out. I think it runs pretty good, all things considered... and there is a lot of power left on the table.

mods are in my sig.

Yeah, the shop that built my motor also made me an ewg dump tube, so the wastegate isn't recirculated anymore. I'm loving it

Thanks guys. I drove the car over 100 miles today and it didn't skip a beat (or burn a drop of oil). It really surprises me how good it runs... When I was running the stock motor, at 22-23psi I would see 4.4-4.5v at the maf (perrin bigmaf). I'm seeing 4.3v on wastegate boost now.

Next up will be a custom 3.5" exhaust, EL header, and reversed IC piping (like the UR kit, so the coldside IC pipe doesn't go over the turbo). In the meantime, I think I might add a pound or two of boost

i have the pleasure of seeing this car semi often at the local car hangout / lebanon valley dragway.. funny thing is, the car went 12.01@ 117ish last year on basically 3 cylinders on the stock block... with the new stuff i wouldnt hesitate to see 30+psi and mid to low 11's...
