They won't release it for v1. They want everyone to upgrade not get free add-ons. They said the "v1 doesn't have enough memory" or something. But we all know that's poo-poo.

I have been researching and reading about the V2 Accessport, it seems like an awesome item.

Not only do you gain 25 hp and 40+ torque, but the launch feature seems awesome.

Now, Im assuming this would be an awesome 'cheat' tool, for someone who doesnt have AWD launching experience, i mean, all you have to do is modulate the clutch? The launch control must make this SUPER Easy??? and make you run consistant times?

Iv tried launching a few times, got the clunk and go, and the 2nd time all is smelt was clutch.. Would the V2 LC Eliminate my ****ty launches and make me a pro? :P

Hahah! I use to run high 13s with a N\A built Integra Type R, so im not a novice at drag racing, but definetly a beginner in the STi.

My main concern is the abuse on the car, axles, transmission.. when is enough , etc?

thanks in advance my STi bros

If you slip the clutch properly it wont put too much stress on the drivetrain.

launch control is not necessarily to make a person better at launching, it just helps build boost prior to the launch. You will still need to learn the proper clutch release technique. Using the LC and launching inproperly will lead to more problems than launching without the LC, due to the fact that the launch control is building boost and creating more power off the launch that could potentially break more parts.

I dont have an STI yet, but I've never owned an AWD car, just launched FWD cars, so can anyone enlighten me on the proper "clutch slip" technique for these things? That and is LC a free add on to your v2 if you own one? Im trying to get my head around AP's too.

Yes LC is a free add on for the v2 but if you have a custom tune then get your tuner to turn your map into a launch control and flat foot shifting map. This also doesnt make it easier to launch, although it did make my 60ft times better due to the fact that I had 12 lbs of boost off the line.

No my tuner sent me a LC/FFS map and I set the desired RPM for each of them. Sadly I never used it at the track with my cirrent set-up but I will be using it on my FP Red set-up this summer.
