Default VIR Grand 6/16-6/17

Here's some of my video from this past weekend running the VIR Grand course with Mazdadrivers. It was my first time running this configuration and I absolutely loved it, can't wait to do it again next year. I'll keep adding to this as I upload.

Yep, anyone who has used PFC race pads knows that they squeal like hell, even at full operating temp.

Looks like a blast. Why does everyone let you by? Or was it just testing or something?

yea, you'd be suprised how much faster a lightly modded STi is than most other things on the track.

Yeah it's no match for most of the Vettes, Porsches, M3's, etc. on the straightaways but I can catch them in the corners. I will say though, being on a big track like VIR on a 90+ degree day makes me want more power. I was also parked next to Phil from Element Tuning in the paddock so naturally he convinced me that I need a GT52 Maybe once I get a few more suspension things sorted out I'll have enough money left over to get things rolling on a turbo upgrade. For a track like Summit Point though the power level I'm at feels like plenty.

yea, phil's car is nuts. I think you would be happy with a sz49/fp green sized turbo, since it's right in the middle between 20g and gt52. Besides, to get the full potential of the gt52 you'd want to have a built block. It is damn tempting though and i hope next summer i'll also be able to focus more on power now that my suspension is pretty well set.

Yep. I was working that MR too This was in blue class? I had a blast on that track, I was so surprised at how faster we are than corvettes, they used to be my dream car, before I knew what a lightly modded STi was capable of.

No looking back now, this is my track car.

Yeah basically what Phil told me as that with a good, conservative tune I can hit 370-380 whp on a GT52 and be fine with the stock motor. He is running a GT65 on his stock motor and it's held up just fine...it's all in the tune. That's why I've been considering going with Hydra and having Phil tune it.

No this was in Yellow. Most of the Corvettes are definitely faster than our cars, they just need a decent driver in them There was a white ZR1 in my group who would blow me away down the straights and then I would catch right back up to him in the braking zones. Eventually he just had to let me pass.

Thanks, it is SO much fun. If you have the means to get into HPDE, I highly recommend it.
