I have friends in highschool that had some old early 80s hatchback wagon they rattle canned black and them put lime green racing stripes on.

They raced it around town and ended up breaking out the front widnshield on one of thier jumps. They then ened up wearing aviator goggles to compensate for the lack of windshield and protects thier eyes from bugs and dirt.

The thing ended up dieing when they jumped the railroad tracks and the front end hit the road and smashe the radiator into the engine.
