Sti(supposedly) vs M3 at Drag strip

This was posted on my bros BMW forum. The guy with what i think is a WRX runs a crappy time, then tells the guy he raced, in the M3, that its an STI. Anyways check out the video and let me know what you guys think.

trust me, I have a friend with a nicely modded e36. Either that e36 has another motor in it, weighs 2500lbs (which might be the case).

a 14 something for a stock.. sure its not that great.. but still not a bad time.

bmw did 14 sec run,and sti 60 feet behined him . bad driver ...

precisely,...BOV probably = bad driver. One of my best friends has an e46 m3 and I can eat him from a roll from various speeds(barely at the very top) to over 140mph (I've done it at least 3 x since my protune). On a closed course, of course.

the guy on that forum stated that he has yet see a STI run in the 13s....its all higher....he was in Phoenix...is this right?

Wow, BMW idiots on that thread.

Having been an M3 owner in the past, I can tell you from experience that the E36 will not come anywhere near the STi in straight line performance. I have run with a SC E36 M3, that was a fast car, but it still lost to the STi.

So, this video is either a WRX with a crap driver or a broken STi.

It kinda looked like that WRX had a bodkit or atleast a rear lip....didn't look stock, could be a WRX with a STi wing and BOV....or it could be an STi with a kit and a BOV. Either way, that BOV is killing a BONE STOCK STi. I wonder how it would be if the BOV wasn't there and a better driver was in the car...hmmmm bone stock STi vs a mod'ed M3

Elevation guys, not a single one of your stock sti's would break mid 13's at best out there. More then likely the majority would be running high 13's low 14's and with a bad driver mid 14's.
