Default Got Bandwidth?! Subaru Legacy GT In-Car Race Video

Well, it's not an STi, but it's a Subaru with the same block!

I just got around to publishing this video. It was taken during the Grand Am Cup race at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama on Oct. 8th 2006. The car is the 2006 Subaru Legacy GT built and campaigned by GOTO:Racing.

Due to an electrical glitch that kept us off the grid, we had to start from the very back of the field. There is lots of passing! Remember, no passing until you are past the start/finish line after the green flag waves...

It's a big file but the quality is pretty good. 720x480, 197MB and 23 minutes long.

Right-click, save-as...

That was an awesome video. NASCAR TV er...SPEED TV be damned...I'm subscribing to SheehanTV.

I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing some of your cornering strategies. It looked like you snookered that RSX a couple times but it seemed to have ever-so-slightly more power or entry speeds.

So what, if any, restrictions do they impose on the Legacy GT? Out of curiosity, how would you compare it to the ESX STi you drove?

It was funny seeing the next class come on the track (I'm assuming that's what the Porsche was...)

Thanks again!

not to answer for gary, but I know the leg has an 100% stock exhaust on it!

I'm also guessing its no where near the power, handling, etc of the WC sti he drove.

Its a great vid gary.. and yea, you need your own TV channel

He (or GOTO racing rep) posted on the other forum that the racing organization didn't want a WRX in it (prob gonna dominate it ). And so they put the Legacy in because Subaru would support the team and the racing org liked that.

All that car contact is crazy!

awesome vid gary! That course looks like a blast. From the video it looks like the straightaway power on the leg is a little down from atleast the rsx, but with ross saying that the exhaust is all stock that makes sense.

That was one of the most exciting in-car vids I've seen in a while! I was glued to my monitor the whole time yelling "ohh! whoa!!" The part where you connected with the RX8 on the was to much. It was awesome how you worked on the RSX for a bit and finally passed him, awesome driving. What a course.
