Default Streets of willow 12-16

Here's a long vid of me and cho_yang running Streets CW with redline track events. We saw a guy grenade his turbo on a brand new Evo. Of couse he was running no EM and a BOV with turboback and intake. The black car in the vid is a BMW M6. I didn't even know they made an M6. What a beast of a car. A big thanks to Jeremy from Redline and of course Dan from Harman motive for dialing us in with a good protune!
Enjoy

The next day we hit up Buttonwillow for the driving clinic. I learned a ton this weekend and after reviewing the footage I've gotten better but there's still lots of room for improvement. I'll post some pics as soon as I give them a quick resize.

Nice video, looks like that instructor was having fun sliding around in your car... I am not so sure I liked his pre turn in playing on the wheel, I dont really think thats a necessarily good habit to have, however to each their own, I think that keeping the hands in one place @ 9/3 as much as you can is ideal.

Anyway, car looks like it would rotate, heh... I like that course configuration had a somewhat autox look to parts of it

Yeah,
That course is cool. There is some high speed parts I usually hit about 100-120 but there are some super tight turns. The top bowl has a 20 degree bank which is fun because you can take it super hard due to the extra traction. The car rotates very well now for this course I'm running -2.5 Front and -1.5 rear and the car handles very well. It will rotate but is still predictable. Also we had intercom headsets on so you can't hear it but Simon asked him to try out the susupension and see what he thought. That's why he slid the car to see how well the car rotated and recovered. Overall he said both our cars are perfect for learning and the suspensions are set up well. My car is very neutral and recovers well. I have skid almost completely sideways 3 or 4 times on the buttonhook at buttonwillow and always been able to recover.

I could not believe he worked the M6 in my car, what a great driver and instructor Jeremy is. HPDE sessions are so important in learning how to maintain fast laps at the track. What a great experience!

EDIT:

Also, for boataholic and I getting validation from several instructors at Buttonwillow regarding our suspension setups really put us at ease. We received many compliments on the handling characteristics of the cars. We've been concerned about modifying our suspensions "to much" if there is such a thing. Currently, our driving skills have room to grow into these setups. The instructors seemed like they felt "right at home" while they ripped people up left and right. Is this fun or what?

Me and Cho have put so much time and money into this hobby. It's just so addicting. I can't wait to go out again.

Dad's got an E60 M5 (the new one, incase you didn't know). The car is silly fast. Even without SPORT mode ("M-mode"), it pulls like there's no tomorrow. Anyway, I like the video. Good job on the editing.
