Default Streets at Willow Springs Nov. 17th with Oi Oi M8

I did the redlinetrackevents.com track day on friday, first track day, bone stock STI (SPT Intake, but does that count as an actual mod). My editing skills are almost nothing, so the video is long, it is a whole session with my managers band playing. The video is a little over 28 minutes long, so please don't hesitate to fast forward alot of it. Oi Oi M8 is in another clip that I have yet to upload, I will try to do it today, or tonight Will.

o yeah i forgot to say .. that track blows ... compared to pahrump .. now i know why i drive 4 hrs to go there ..

a few things about mountain springs track is ..

A .. they keep the track nice and paved really good
B .. they have apex all over the place
C .. It is a corvette test track and a school track so everything is top notch
D .. o yeah only one wall woot and that is at the starting point and it is 3.4 miles long

All i can say is about Streets at Willow Springs is that it is close to me . But the maintains of the track and the payment BLOW ..the track looks like it is a 100 years old ..

so that is why i got to pahrump KEN .. and next time you will have to go with me

o yeah how is button willow .. compare to willow springs ???

Buttonwillow is nice... There is lots of run off, only one wall. Apexes all over the place. The only thing I can say negative about Buttonwillow is if you run CCW, the track is slow as they usually open up Lost Hills instead of the big straightaway. The track is paved very well and well taken care of. What are you doing Saturday the 25th. Me and Cho_Yang are going to BW with GreenFlag. I think they still have some openings.

I will take the 1.5 hour drive over a nicer track 4 hours away any day, and I was at streets at willow, I did not drive willow springs, or button willow. There are 3 tracks there. As far as I could see, the track is small compared to the other 2, but for a $120 track day that was ran rather well from what I could tell, it was good. There was only about 45 or so cars there, so plenty of time on the track.

The turn after the back straight is a three point turn in our cars. You lost a lot of speed there.

I apologize for the music, It's my bosses band, and I told him that I would do it for him so he could post it on his site.

Maybe you should stick with using $40 a day instructors, then insult their instruction because you learned more from a book. I will stick with the more than $10,000 that I have poured into several different instruction classes including my fair share of trips to Bondurant. I didn't ask you for a critique on my driving skills, and would most certainly go heads up with you any day of the week. My instructor from Bondurant saw the video, and told me where I went wrong, and where I went right, you aren't even close. Sorry to put a damper on your classroom racing education, but it's kind of like the guy on the bench walking up to Michael Jordan and telling him that his shot sucks. I apologize if this sounds mean, but I have read some of your other posts, and I think someone needs to put you in your place, you have no problem dropping in on a post, and just throwing a big **** you into it. maybe you should think about some of the stuff you type, I am sure you do it when you talk to people in real life. Just think before you type.

Ouch, where did that come from? Why would you take offensive to that comment?

The turn that I mentioned I also took it the same as you. After a buddy of mine who is an instructor at Skip Barber took the turn several times in my car the approach that I mentioned was the fastest.

I don't understand your "trip" anyway. I wasn't even trying to insult you yet you blast the Streets for being a crappy track???

You're right you didn't ask but I gave it anyway. Why would that be an issue this is a forum. I didn't mean my comment to insult you in anyway but if you are going to blow up over that little statement your going to have a tough time on these boards.

And I would love to hit the track with you. Maybe you could help me improve me driving skills maybe not in any case it couldn't hurt. The seat time alone has to be worth something.

I hate to break it to you but your not Jordan and neither am I; some day I hope, just not today.

If you think that your the only one who has gone to a driving or racing school your wrong. If you think that your the only one who is into motorsports or hasn't been doing or attending events with their father or uncles or in them themselves your wrong. I'm not going to give you a resume.

My comment about the instruction holds true at least on the day that I went to the Streets. The instructors running the event cared more about getting in their cars and running around the track than instructing anybody. They couldn't remember the flags when briefing the drivers, the passing lanes, etc. That's basic stuff that you MUST pass for safety reasons.

Apology excepted. It is truly hard to type out worded emotion. If my typing sounds like an **** you it was not meant to be. I try to type objectively but maybe it comes across wrong.

You don't know a thing about me and I don't intend to type my life story. I look out for my friends, family and the people under my charge and no one can deny this.

If you had ran a search and really read everything that I typed you would know much more about me than you think you do at this time. If you like you can pm me for details.

I don't want the mods to close your thread sense it just started so I'll leave it at that.

So let me start over...ok

Nice vid but I didn't dig the music. I didn't watch the whole thing from start to finish but there is time to be made if you try to take that first turn after the back straight away as a 3 point turn. I too took it the same as you did and was corrected by a buddy of mine who does this sort of thing for a living. Have a wonderful Subaru filled day! XOXOXO
