I had to sit through 2:35 to watch 0:15 of the game! Glad that's over.

Coming from Home theater experience, the blu-ray player in the PS3 might end up being a dumbed down version. Meaning, possible resolution of only 1080i, whereas the full Sony/Samsung model is capable of 1080p. This is true to the PS2 and its DVD functions. Gets the job done, but halfasses it. As for the Xbox360. Its 400 with harddrive, wireless controller and component cables. I dont see your logic. And if intel stays true, the 360 will see a price drop in the holiday season. As of right now the system is 200 dollars less than PS3 with no support for HD-DVD. However the HD-DVD attachment will also hit this season with a guess price of 200, making the two systems identical in price and performance.... well until Xbox drops price on the initial unit.

My sugguestion. Wait.

Most people have Xbox now for Halo 1 and 2. If that person waits for Halo 3's later launch, you get the system cheaper. Figuring most people are waiting for this game alone anyway, the wait isn't bad. (unless Gears of War is good )

If you want a PS3 for GT series games, wait until it the game launch to buy the system. Nintendo's Wii will be in everyone's home this christmas with a cheap price and PLENTY of inventory. People will forgot about the big sticker systems with no real good games by early spring . Both systems will have to drop price just to compete again. Just in time for Halo 3 and the end to my social life.

/End Novel

ps. Long live the Wii

It's obvious most of you didn't try Forza Motorsport on the original XBOX... It was better in most ways than GT4... & with Forza 2 coming to the 360, as well as Simbin's GTR, 360 owners will soon be in Racing Sims paradise...

Even if it does turn out to be only 1080i, you're still getting that feature when a 1080p blue ray dvd player alone costs as much as the ps3 itself. I think most people would find that to be a pretty good deal. Xbox360 w/hardrive is 400, add 100 for the wireless networking adapter and you're up to 500. I don't think 600 for the ps3 is unreasonable, but 100 for each game I think is kinda ridiculous.

Check out the Impreza Rally Video "Demo Movie Reply" for GT-HD on their homepage. It looks real as sh*t on my crappy cpu screen. I gotta see what that looks like on HD.

Forza is very impressive. It doesn't have the variety of GT4 though in the sense that there's no rally racing. Still, I have to wonder how good of a rally simulator GT: HD will be compared to something like Richard Burns Rally.

Some people may not need or ever use some of those functions. I have a 360 and have no need for blue ray, wireless networking adapter, etc and I'm not being forced to pay for them. Will a 360 with all those added options be the same as a ps3? sure.. who knows. However for a person who doesnt need/want those options the fact that they're OPTIONAL is great.

I've always been on the playstation bandwagon but made the switch to 360 for that very reason, im sure ps3 will be great though just too pricey for some

I'll wait til either the ps3 price dropping or til Turismo comes out and I can't stand not having anymore.
