It only opens around 1bar (14.7psi) so you have to be on it a good ammount for it to open. Now an ewg dumped to atmosphere on the VF-39 (stock turbo) would have to get pretty annoying I would imagine because that thing is like insta-boost as soon as you touch the gas. I notice more and more people doing this too..

At the time I was using the Prodrive boost solenoid to control boost and since then I've replaced it with the Apexi AVC-R and the car feels much more powerful, hits full boost in every gear, and holds boost rock solid. Not sure what the dip is around 6k, but it's not felt on the street and when me and the tuner went for a road tune he didn't feel it either. ![]() I have not had a chance to scan my dyno plot from KTR yet, but it looks very similiar, just reads somewhat lower.

Not all the time.. I'm not sure why it does it sometimes and others it doesn't. Maybe sometimes they're just more visable than others

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a stock STI puts down 220hp does that roughly equate to roughly 27% drivetrain loss? And if so, doest that mean 474HP & 371TQ at the crank? Very nice numbers by the way. What are your settings on the Apexi for gear judge and duty cycle? |

At the time I bought mine the 8cm wasn't an option they were offering. I'm curious how much of a difference it would make.

My AVC-R is set on 4th gear self learning and trying to remember off the top of my head I think it's set as: 1st gear: +5 2nd gear: +2 3rd gear: +2 4th gear: 0 5th gear: -2 As it got colder here in NY I had to do a little adjusting, but that's basically what I've been set at.

I would say try to see if Jon @ tdctuning.com will sell you one. He gets them for pretty cheap from what I remember. Thier phone number should be on the site.

My friends STi w/ gt35r @ 26psi made 415whp on this particular dyno. Don't get caught up on the #'s without having something to compare it to. A stock STi supposedly makes right around 220whp on this dyno. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad.
