| Junior STI Driver | Hey guys... Here's a link of my 2:14 run at Thunderhill a couple weeks ago. Still on STOCK TIRES and NO CAMBER!! Pretty stoked. I'm thinking with a little more work on lines I can get a 2:12 out of her. Then, it will be time for Camber and Tires... not sure where I'll end up at that point, but I'll keep you all posted. Enjoy... http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...64036299&hl=en This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

| Junior STI Driver | Thanx guys. Yeah... Thunderhill is a GREAT track! Altitide changes, off-camber turns, plenty of run-off space, plus it feels like you're over at a friends house racing in the field or something. I love Sears' (Infinion), but it has become SOOO CROWDED now-a-days that a weekend session can get a bit hectic. I've been sticking with mainly mid-week Thunderhill sessions and they are awesome. |

| Junior STI Driver | Thanx again all for the nice comments! And I cannot say ENOUGH about how cool of a track Thunderhill is... see post #4 for my basic thoughts. Enchanter: I've been running with NASA. Next mid-week session is Oct 26th, then a weekend on Nov 11/12. Who do you run with? I have been told that Track Masters is a cool group to run with, but I'm looking for info on any other run groups that people may have used out there... I'd love to get more time in at T-Hill. Please do let me know if you have found a good group to play with! Singletrack: RE070's are cool and all, but it has become clear to me that there is speed left in the corners when using them. Seems that RA-1'a are a bit faster, and full sticky slicks (choose your make/model) will make a HUGE difference. I still run 070's because they are a great all round tire (for CA, that is) that holds up well at the track AND I get them cheap from folks getting rid of them when they are new (on my 5th set!!). Not looking forward to the added cost of getting another set of wheels AND getting them to the track, but I know the time is drawing near to do it. AND OF COURSE, the camber is crucial! Silly that I am still running 0 camber, I know, but I just haven't changed it. When my Camber Plates come I will be setting up for -1.5 around town and max'd for the track. Should shave quite a few more seconds off the lap times. Thanx again for the kind comments and hope you see you at the track! |

| Junior STI Driver | I've gone with a few organizations and have discovered that the Golden Gate Lotus Club runs a damn good show. Less than $200, lots of track time, open passing, not too crowded. I'm looking to do Sears Point next, then maybe Laguna next year. Those two places are more expensive than Thunderhill and Button Willow, but having two great tracks within a few hours...I have to go! |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I just did Thunderhill again on Monday and only did a 2:15 so I had to see how you did a 2:14. Ah-ha, you cheated and used the bypass. The club I run with, CFRA, has never run the bypass in the normal direction. We have in the reverse direction and you can actually catch air going over it. Nice lap though. Any, yep, those are RE070’s all right. I’d recognize that howl anywhere. Those tires are so noisy. My buddies always say they never have to guess where I am on the track. |

| Junior STI Driver | Actually, I FINALLY added camber plates (no alignment though, didn't have time!) and managed to squeeze a 2:11 out of her. Pretty stoked. I know I still leave speed on the table in 1, 6 and 9. But, well, I'm just not as agressive as some folks would like me to be!! Have never ran the track BACKWARDS... sounds fun!!! Yeah, NASA only runs the bypass. SCCA and other groups (apparently CFRA) run the "real" 5 and that is way more fun. It's a great corner for AWD cars to make up time on the high powered rear wheel drive monsters. RE070's: have made the decision to get another set of wheels and slicks for next year. The howling is driving me nutz AND I know I'll get a few more mph out of her. |

I will be there that same weekend running group 3 for both saturday and sunday. I should be parked next to the GOTO racing guys and they probably won't be to hard to find. My car number is 948. Stop by and say hi, it is always interesting talking with people who have the same car and their experiences with the car and with what works and what dosn't.
