Default Comparison of various MFG's AWD

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...42340359932162

Highlights some of the results of a Subaru Ride & Drive clinic put on for salespeople where they got like 1500 dealership salespeople and 500 other folks to drive several different subarus as well as the competitive models from other manufacturers.

There is obviously some bias in the video, but the video itself is just an edited-together recap to show to dealership folks who didn't go to the event. Some places the voiceover says "there's an ovious difference" and I see very little difference... but in other places, the differences are painfully clear and it shows just how inept some AWD systems really are.

I especially like the dirt-climb portion of the video.

Some of the bias is quite unbelievable in at least 2 parts of that vid, but oh well, like stated the hill climb was a good comparision....

I would have liked to see the sti run in these comparisions, lol.

Why have 4wd w/o limited slips? Lot of work for not much more traction.

I'm a VW tech and we got to do that when Phaeton was released. One of the VW reps dropped the trans out of a Jag on the roller incline thing. Phaeton made it with no problems though. For 100k it should.

Looked like the Volvo should have made the hill climb. Did the driver just stopped giving it gas? No wheels slipped.

The Murano was most embarassing, what was going on there?

I'd love to have seen the STI go through the same tests since it has an even more advanced AWD system. Though, I'd like to see it compared to the Evo, S4, and RS4. I already know the main differences, but it'd be fun to watch them play out on a video.

that was b/s how the opposing cars spun out in the accident avoidance test. the drivers were making the spin out while the subarus were given light input to keep them straight

I would like to see all these tests done by an independent source. Not Subaru or any other bias group.
