| Junior STI Driver | Well guys a got the Forge BPV, So I'm basically stock, just SP2 Catback. So the BPV comes with 3 springs. The green one that is already in the bpv, and yellow and red. I'm basically stock so in 4 gear i'm hitting almost "just for a hair" 15psi.. I would like the weird sound of swordfighting "flutter" but as I can see it might hurt the turbo " So I dont want that to happen because of a sound..." . So tomorrow I will install the bpv, I will run the green spring, but dont know to put the shims in there... One shim or 2 or nothing? "Also where I install them? at the top of the spring? I read here that Forge said "forget about the shims "but why they come with the bpv? What's the function of a shim? Thankx |

| Junior STI Driver | Hi guys, I just install the bpv on my car. Well I was wrong .. My bpv came with the BLUE spring already install.. "i'm almost 15psi.." So I pull on 3 and 4 gear and the sound was minimun. Then I try the yellow one, and the sound was a little louder with a little "PING!!" ..like a little bell.. So then I switch to the one left, red. I know it may give you some problem with the turbo but I just want to hear what type of sound it makes. Well, it was the same sound with the "PING!!"but a little bit louder "not using the shims in any of the springs". So ,the kit does't come with the green spring? Ohh and BTW, I'm running now the yellow that is rated to 15-23 psi. So this is the sound that you guys have in your car? With a Cobb Stage 2 the sound will change?? Thankx guys. Valve Spring color coding<o ></o >Green - 5-15 PSI<o ></o >Yellow - 15-23 PSI<o ></o >Blue - 23-30 PSI<o ></o >Red - 30 + PSI |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | Holy double post batman! Well..you should be fine with the Yellow spring, especially going to Stg2. You Stg1 already? Don't use the shims...its not needed. Aslong as the car doesn't sound/feel like its running bad, then you should be fine. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2005 Trader Rating: (30) | Yah you should be fine the way you are. If you hear the car sound like you have an external wastegate....go to a lower spring ASAP! Otherwise smile and enjoy! |
