| dances with roads | Look at the pavement they're doing the demo on. It's completely coated with rubber. They must have been doing demo after demo, and basically flogged the car until something broke. I wouldn't be surprised if they had another ready to go, and took that one back to be fixed and pulled out when the other one broke. Reminds me of the way Jimi Hendrix treated his guitars during live shows. |

Now if the car was experiencing massive wheelhop or was trying to do this on slicks then I think it would become a question of abuse, but the car seems to be setup to do donuts. Don't get me wrong, it's not my cup of tea, but I would hardly call this harsh on a STi compared to what you would do at the dragstrip/autocross and especially a WRC event. Like I said, cars are meant to be enjoyed, everyone has a different defnition of what that is. This person likes doing donuts and making smoke. Just to really make my point clear, just think of the stress you put on your drivetrain when launching your car with slicks at the track. I'm sure your taking the axels to the limit, and I wouldn't be surprised if a few people have broke them. However, I'm willing to bet no one here would call it abuse. Anyone who would must have their car encased in a big glass box vacume and only take it out when there's a full moon. | |

That's how our AWD system is balanced. I've done similar maneuvers at the track. Turn the steering wheel, step on the gas, the rear end kicks out and the car starts to slide, and the front wheels pull the car in the direction I want to go. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
