Default Prodrive P2 on Latest Top Gear

Semi-Subaru related:
http://www.mininova.org/tor/330642

It apparently won't be made (according to Top Gear), which is too bad really. Look familiar:

http://www.seriouswheels.com/2006/20...s-1280x960.htm

I would buy one, definitely. It even looks pretty cool; not totally fond of the Cadillac style headlight design but still a nice looking car.

That's kinda funny... HID leveling knob used for center diff level changes. Why are they making such a big deal out of the adjustable center diff? Maybe it's because the euros hasn't had it before, but they took a factory item and (probably) changed the logic on it a bit. Maybe Subaru should take notes...

I think its a big deal, especially the ATD (Active Torque Dynamics) and the ALS (Anti-Lag System). The ATD basically in simple terms makes sure that if the car is understeering it sends torque to the rear wheel to make it make it neutral in a turn, and when the car oversteers sends the torque to the front to keep it again neutral in a turn. The Anti-lag system is absolutely GREAT from my understanding it eliminates lag sorta, i read an example that makes it easier to understand. Lets say you are in 1st goin 20-30mph, then you are in 2nd goin from 20-30mph what the ALS does is pretty much make you go from 20-30 at the same rate of acceleration in 2nd as you do in 1st.

This is my understanding of these 2 systems that makes this car absolutley amazing and i think prodrive should sell it.

It's amazing that it is only .4 seconds slower than a Zonda...not the F mind you but still.

Subaru should really take some tips. I know this might sound silly but wouldn't it be cool if this was a hint of what was to come for the next real update to the Impreza (or whatever it will be called)?

ALS is a system that spools the turbo while your foot is off the accelerator so you stay boosted etc. etc. http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/bangbang.html there's a thread about it somewhere here

yup thats it i just forgot for some reason... it is truly an amazing system i wish all wrx's n STi's came with that feature. If the STi and WRX had that feature it'd make the subaru's one step ahead of the evo. hopefully

Sweet car, I'd love to have one. I don't think it's practical for a street car to have anti-lag but I have a feeling that more manufacturers will begin using variable-vane turbos like those used on the 997TT. It apparently hits full boost around 2k RPM

thanks so much for posting that. I've been anxious to see that car in action for a while.
