You wouldn't enjoy replacing turbos and engine parts every 5k miles, that's for sure.

I take it that this ATD (Active Torque Dynamics) is nothing like our DCCD?

I love that car!!! They should make a kit or something so that you could turn the R1 city car into a P2. Sure it would cost like $20,000+ but i'd do it! Then all we'd need is the R1 city car here in the states...

Why couldn't they just produce it!?!? It's 40,000 pounds and an STi costs what 29,000 pounds. My half ass currency calculations put that at what approximately $48,000? Thats Lotus Elise territory. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

As far as the turbo being compromised from the anti lag... You can turn anti lag on and off, that would lengthen the turbo life because it's not like everyone would need to drive with anti lag on for their daily drive. It's a track thing. It's not a daily driver anyway!

Nice to finally see the car in action. I'm not sure when that episode was done, because I heard Prodrive was looking for a major auto manufacturer's assistance in building it (Subaru??).

40K pounds is about $75K. XE.com can do currency conversions. Also, as LOLSti said, Anti-Lag systems will wear out your turbo very quickly. They work by exploding fuel in the exhaust path to keep the turbo spooled when you are off throttle.

well hopefully subaru would make a car simmilar to that of the prodrive p2, so that we can have that much fun . . . if anything they should take some notes and build a street car like that with a switch for the anti lag and the diff . . . that would be prety cool

That car is disgusting. ALS also destroys your exhaust too according to the RallyCars thread. IS the little switch next to the ATD an ALS switch? Would it be possible to even turn an ALS off?
