Default Why is this GT-35r STi so slow?

I mean...if you look through the video a few minutes. He races a bolt-on stock turbo STi. The guy basically keeps up with him. WTF.

He was blowing a lot of smoke, looked like he was either running really rich or burning oil - maybe a bad tune or a problem with the car.

he blew a *****CK load of smoke. But did you notice how slow he was? I mean..comon. Bolt-on stock STi vs. GT-35? And the bolt-on kept up with him every gear?
Sorry, but this doesnt motivate me to buy the GT-35 kit as I originally planned.

Either something is wrong with the engine, or it's a bad tune, or it's a bad driver, or any combo of those things. It was a ton of smoke coming from that car. A GT35R STi is faster than that (if done right).

you could have the largest turbo in the world and if the suporting mods or the tune aren't working correctly you could lose to a renault megan.

if you want alot of power, a lot of lag, and a much better chance of buying a new block (if your stock) the gt35r is great.

I plan on upgrading gaskets, heads, and pistons with the GT-35. Is there a major internal part which I should swap to ensure a safe ~495whp?

Ha, no one. Was simply making a point that if that was a second and third gear run, the super short gearing bairly takes advantage of a tall power band car. That and the 35-r sti lets off early so it makes the other sti seem deceivingly fast.

I found it humorous that someone can or cannot justify spending so much cash on their car by 5 sec vid clip, that was all.
