Actually I think the ls1/t52 tranny combo is lighter than the rotary with the transmission.

Practice practice practice. Nope I am not hitting the rev limiter. And no I am not using a 2step. I get it up to about 6000 rpm and then quickly slip it. I learned to drive stick on this car, so it has taken it's beating and come back for more.
