Default 05 STi vs. 350Z from a roll

This is the first video I know of me out there on the internet. I thought I would share it with you guys. Nothing special, but tell me what you think. Our race is towards the middle of a video posted on the Bimmerforums. The Bimmerforum guys seemed to think my car was slow.

Bimmer vid with STi vs 350Z *right click save as*

A little background:

05 STi with APS 3" TBE, OTS AP Stg 2 1.10 LWG map, Cobb SF Intake
350Z with bolt-ons and more than I know I'm sure, he says on a high dyno 290 to the wheels.

This was a roll race at about 2500 rpm in second. Foot completely off the throttle at the beginning, if you watch I gave him a little bit of a jump and the benefit of doing the honking.

Here's a vid of him on the same closed road vs. a BOV equipped STi, the STi was apparently stock in this vid.

Another vid with the same 350Z running another STi

If that was Sakred from the Z forums man you did fantastic he has beaten alot of faster cars, on the driver mod. I have never seen a guy make the most of what he had, beating M3's quite easily. He does not have anything special if I remember toyo tires, intake, exhaust, plenum, tilton clutch which I think he hates. Once again great job, not many people have beaten Sakred.

Yes it was Sakred. The first time we ran into him was in my buddy's EVO coming up some switchbacks and he was tucked within 2 feet of our bumper the whole way through each of the turns. Even though my buddy didn't know the road that well, Hammad is an amazing driver who knows his car extremely well, and he showed my buddy how slow he was going.

He reminds me of the good ol' days in my Civic Si, when I would have random people talking to my friends about some mythical Si driver, only to find out they were talking about me. In the Si I knew the limits and I knew them well because it was easy to get to them. I can only hope to continue to the level of comfort in my STi that Sakred/Hammad has in his Z and I once had in my Si.

P.S. Yes a good driver does count as a mod, put me in any of my friends cars and I am almost positive it will be faster

In the other video with the white STi you can see the turbo falling flat on its face due to the bov everytime he shifts. And NICE FLIP

Yeah, anyone wondering whether or not to get a BOV should take a look at the second vid for a very good example of visible slowdown caused most likely by the BOV. I think a bone stock STi would fare better.

That's a good thing about elevation, the NA cars take a HARD hit up here in the clouds...

Nice vid. Props!

Ya for sure. That vid should go in the BOV thread.
