Yeah...I think the Z driver has a few more mods than detailed in this post. I am a former 350z owner, and I can tell you that my LGT is faster than my Z ever was. Either that or he's got a freak of nature, and my Z was a total runt.

Nice vid. Props!
Hahaha! So true! I don't mean to bring up racing stories, but I will. A few days ago I took a new 350Z very badly from a roll. We're talkin' many many car lengths. He came up beside me at about 45MPH and I heard him downshift and saw hiim punch it, I did the same and spread the gap in a very quick way. I don't know how else to describe it. The MPH climbed and the car lengths increased, quickly. 350Zs are DOGS up here in the clouds.

Although, they do sound really cool at WOT.

Sorry about the racing story. It was for informational/educational purposes only.

Man I sure would like to be in one of their videos. I think my tail lights would look cool through his windshield.

Anything between you and a 350z (except maybe a TT one) would be hilarious.

don't take this the wrong way, but it seemed like your launches weren't so hot. Im not saying I could do any better, as launching when you are actually about to race is a whole other focus and is tough to do with the pressure on heh. But good job seemed pretty quick. Just the sti if launched properly can embarass people pretty easily on the street.

The STi did great. Although, Stage 2 is a pretty good upgrade. I felt like my Z was a bit faster on the highway than the STi, but that was stock vs. stock. You just have to work a little more to move the STi on the highway. Z had a much smoother powerband (ie. NA), thats for sure. But from a dig...it wouldn't stand a chance!

Thanks for the constructive criticism...and yes if I concentrated on maybe slipping the clutch right before the take off it could be quicker, but the agreement before we raced was that we would both roll, off the throttle, and go from 2nd gear on the 3rd horn. I'll try and get some launches on video, my launches are not that bad. The stock clutch is holding up somewhat well after 20k on the odo but compared to new it is definately developing a different slip characteristic. I've launched the car maybe 5 times since November, with very little experience launching Stg 2 with my 255/40 tires. More rubber, more power and a slipping clutch make it kinda tricky.

Speaking of revving that guy must have a pulley too, right? I didn't think VQ revved that freely...

Someone post this on the 350z forum, they seem to have forgotten the race with the white STI on their forum.
Great videos by the way.

Well i beat hammad when he first got his Z from a roll in 2nd. Im not sure if he had mods then but, I had a SRT-4 back then stock. Freaken peice of crap car. Turn out to be a lemon. But bought an 06 STI and i was in love. But when i was behind dank with are friend that has a evo,we were going down the twistes. I was taken it easy but Hammad was on my ass the hole way. On the way back up, i was behind the z and the evo was in front of the z hammad was on his ass the hole way. I was surprised how good he can drive.
