The 2jz-gte is no joke. That engine LOVES boost. With a good tune, I know cars that make around 1000hp on the stock engine. Unbelievable but true.

My health teacher owns a 97 supra and it is bone stock. Single owner. I might buy it from him one day.

Well that really depends on the turbo. I have 2 firiends that have 2 LARGE old school Turbos(T78 & T88). The lag is not too bad for such a large turbine. That's the trade off with a top end turbo. Commentary in the video was more of a joke. It didn't take all that time to spool the turbo up. They were waiting for a good time to get the footage.

With TT Supras(Stock turbos) the boost comes on at 1,800rpm, with the second turbo coming on at around 4,500rpm. Many of the newer moderately sized single turbos today for the Supra allow full boost at 3-3500RPM and push out some impressive numbers.

I was simply referring to the one in the video, I would still take a supra TT anyday.

Wow that is an awesome vid. I also realized that the four vids on the link are all in my home town of Springfield, MO. I grew up at that drag strip like every Friday night. I'm in NC now but, it sure makes me miss home.
