Ya, figured this would be a good time to ask. The STi coming my way has the APS cai and the APS bov. Should i take off the bov because from the video it sounds like i dont need the extra bling

Wow that sounds really nice. My first mod when I get my car was going to be the silencer delete mod but after hearing this I'm just going to do this instead since you get that sound, I don't have to take out the silencer, and I'm going to do it sooner or later anyway.

Also leaving the silencer in there will help give cooler air outside the engine bay to the filter if I was reading that right.

Is it just me or does that K&N Typhoon sound insanely loud in these movies? Is it really that loud? Sounds like a friggin bov. Sounds hot! Clarification please!

It's loud, but not super, super loud. You definitely hear it, but if you turn up your stereo loud, you'll drown it out. Also, if you drive with a light foot and stay off the boost, you won't hear it much at all. It's loudest when you're accelerating quickly.

I don't know, I was expecting it to be louder, but my Borla XR-1 accounts for most of the sound. But, yes, the whoosh becomes more apparent. Check out my vid and let me know what you think. I already posted the vid on my own thread and one about the XR-1, but, what the hell, it's relevant here too, so forgive me.

It is that loud, all the time, precisely the reason I didn't reinstall it on my 07. But for those who love the sound, it provides exactly that!
