Sweet idea....that's gonna be my next mod!

It is a big difference between the 2. I had a K+N filter, with the gp moto delete, then went to the APS CAI which is similar in sound to the Typhoon. You can hear the spooling and bpv a bit more then stock, but not as good as the SRI or CAI setup

Also, I can still remember the first time I heard the turbo spool and suck in all that fresh air through the APS CAI, and then the big woosh!!!!!! I was like wtf was that???? Tapped the gas again hit boost, and let go, and woosh again, I was like whoa!!!!!!!!!!! That is off the focking hook!!!!!!!!!! I love the sound of the stock bpv and CAI, I am hopefully trading the APS for the Typhoon soon though, feel better with a CARB Sticker on my car

Default K & N and CARB...

I have the '06 that was used as a test bed for the Typhoon. I live somewhat close to K & N, (100 miles) and I drove down there, gave 'em the car for a few hours.

My reward...the Typhoon for free, installed by the guys who designed and built it.

As to the CARB certification. They're still working on it. Takes a long time. I keep in thouch with K & N to follow up.

I'll post a note here as soon as I hear that they have the CARB number. Then, we'll all contact them for a sticker to put on the heat shield. That will allow us here in CA at least to pass the visual smog check.

Chuck.

Not the Plateau, but in the vicinity. Definitely a flat, seldom used, newly paved, industrial road .

Really Late Edit: Oops! I forgot that the last clip is on the Plateau . I was approaching a new Mustang GT and I told my wife to turn off the camera because I didn't want to pick up the rumbling from his exhaust .

I called K&N numerous times in regards to C.A.R.B, hopefully they will get it in time.

I really like the sound when the turbo is in full boost.

Raced this Roush GT 2 once, started pulling on him pretty strong around 4th. Pulled into some parking lot after him.

He was curious about the strange noise and all the whooshing sounds...haha...

Get the pro-tune after you install all your mods.

The Typhoon was my first mod, it's a nice sound. One sound that I couldn't really hear on the videos was the gggggrrRRRRRR growling sound. It sounds sort of kind of like a motorcycle is revving up under your hood, but a lower pitch.

You really have to hear the typhoon in person to get the full effect.

Thanks for the vids!!!!! AWESOME LOL
I had my k&n on all last summer. I haven't had any issues with the heat. I suspect that as long as you leave in the snorkel, you'll have the outside air blowing right into the typhoon when you're moving. If you're in traffic, sure it gets hot, but so does the stock airbox, I suspect there is no real difference due to heat between the k&n and the stock airbox.

its not annually but every two years I think. and if it doesn't have the carb exempt sticker on it, it can be considered illegal if you have your hood popped by the cops. people still don't care, but I do. Great videos! I'll be looking into this if the CARB sticker gets accepted.

Yours sounds loud, or maybe I got used to the sound.
Do you only hear the psssst..... and whooosh when you get into boost?

I dont know if I could put up with it for just casually driving around town (gas saving mode LOL).
