Brakes good, Tires good. We all agree on that.

I read all of it . And while yes tires stop your car, brake stop the tires.
the more calipers on the brake the more Evenly it can apply friction to the rotors. A big part of the equation is your brake pads. but a 6 caliper brake stops you faster then a 2 caliper brake. larger roters actually don't allow you to brake faster. as you get more centrifugal further from the axis, and more spinning mass to slow down . larger roters help dissapate heat, (aka defeat fad)
Also if you are slamming on your brakes from 130 mph, fad /heat issues kick in a lot faster. then if you just Repeatedly slow down from 50 to 25 mph on a solo II course. you can over heat (stock) brakes rather easily with 1 good stop from 120 to 0 .

Those Brembos almost certinaly assisted the BMW to decelorate at a quicker rate the Stock BMW brakes. would some other brand names do the exact same , or better, for less money? Yes. but the thread is about the amazing power of brembos. and yes they are amazing. good compramise between all out braking ability and fade resist for my driving. (not that i'm doing 130 trying to squeeze between semis on the freeway)
But they most certainly helped , and brake the bmw , better then Stock. (better braking on stock tires, better on the best R compound)

Rant over. but braking its just black and white. its not "only tires mater" or all about fad resist for track use ..

ahh just kill it. for some reason everyone wants to belive that tires are 100% of the braking equation :P yes tires help a bunch. but at really high speeds like that , they help less then you think. there is a TON of rotational inertia to overcome. you are going 130, the outside of your rim is going like 400 mph+ it also needs stopping and the tire doesnt matter for that aspect of braking. this is part of why Brakes alone can help your braking distance.

braking is a combo of brake pads+rotors, Rim weight and size, Tire traction. tire heat resistance, brake pad heat restiance, brake fluid , air ventalation to the braking system... :P

Also Smaller rims help you to brake faster,
Lighter rims help you to brake faster.
*sarcasm* but lets ignore rotational inertia , 24" chrome rims with R compounds here i come, why can't i stop? i have R compounds on !!! *end sarcasm* LMAO ... ahhh physics ...
