Hell with enough money, I can make my grandmas buick lesabre take on the corners. Whats the point to that agruement. The STi was built for the corners, while your F-body (TA now?) was built for drag. Equal dollars spent, I'm sure your F-body would win in drag (it would be close) and I'm sure the STi would win in track. Dont beat a dead horse....
What makes you think that RWD owns on the curves???

Have you ever been to a non professional or professional circle track event?? SCCA etc???

RWD dominates there.

Until it rains...and yeah I autox. I would take most of the rwd cars in my class. EVO's and STi's hold their own bone stock in AutoX...let alone modded.

On the street...AWD dominates. Ive dusted many of Mustangs and Camaro's that would out power me. Yeah drop on some slicks and hit the strip and your problems are gone...but I respect the guys who actually drive their car from home to the strip more than the guys who bolt up slicks. JMO though.

LOL at where this thread is going. First off, im not going to comment about rwd vs awd in drag racing, because, well drag racing isn't my thing, i can go in a striaght line on a road course too.

Some of you guys here are so caught up in your own cars (sti's). Because you may only be on subaru forums and hear lots of people say awd is superior in every aspect, that doesnt mean its true, alot of people just talk and like to think what they have is superior to everything else reguardless of the truth. For autox it is a definite plus becuase youve always got traction and the car is very predictable and car be pushed more easily then a rwd car. On a road course however, there is no winner as far as drivetrains. Wipe your minds clear of the OPINIONS of people who say awd owns all. I guarentee most of the people saying that have never run on a track at all. In most cases, rwd is dominant in road racing, not always, but a good amount of the time. Its a different driving style and if you dont know how to control it or use it youll either run slow or end up in the wall. But if you do know how to drive the car, youve got a major advantage and most people should realize what that is. A good example being a Porsche 930 turbo, one of the best handling cars ever built, yet one of the hardest cars to drive. You know how to drive it, it awards you with its amazing capabilities. Otherwise, youre just another idiot with an expensive car.

Honestly the argument between drivetrains is completley pointless, they each have their applications, they are equal in some respects and in others one may come out on top.

Either way thats not what this thread is about, so now that Im completley off topic Im going to suggest everyone just drops it and gets back to the topic.

2000gt4.6 was very mature about the way he posted, and I think were all showing him disrespect and acting pretty childish. Thanks for being cool man and understanding.

I agree with you that 2000gt4.6 was very respectful. I gave him props for that since I know that most V8 guys wouldnt act as respectful as him. Each car is special in its own way and meant for different things, so I believe we should leave it at that. I thought we ended this arguement about RWD vs AWD yesterday. As I said both cars are great and deserve respect.

In my world, there's only drag racing. I don't care about turning. Hence the reason I mentioned drag racing in my post. RWD is by far the superior drag race setup. I don't know anyone with a decently high horsepower car that runs street tires. It'd be dangerous in my car.

Oh yea, who the hell races on the street through turns?

Do you guys still think an f-body or Mustang can't be made to be just as fast through the turns as they are in a drag race?
Did you watch T2 at the SCCA runoffs last year? Should be a pretty good indication of the STi's ability over a f-body or Mustang in road racing.

Haha. Did you watch any of the grand-am cup series? 05 mustangs cleaned up pretty damn good, and grand-am is no joke. Those cars are amazing, broaden your spectrum a little bit.
