For some reason i dont like when people use nitrous for extra horsepower. I think it is a cheap method of getting horsepower. I can understand high horsepower cars using it to spool up the turbo faster. I dont like it when people use it to add horsepower for a race. Race heads up without nitrous. Just my opinion not bashing anyone for using it.

I was in the same boat as you about a year ago. I was real close to buying a spec miata, and at the last second backed out. Instead i picked up an 01 mustang gt that was a bondurant school car. It only had 20 hours on it, and lets just say it was the buy of the century. Thanks ebay!

Anyways the car already had a fire system, fuel cell, 6pt cage, recaro pole positions, and countless upgrades to the suspension/drivetrain, basically everything i needed.

I dont know how serious you are about it, or if you would be intrested in a car like this at all, but if you are watch ebay cause every once in a while one pops up, and i personally dont think you can buy a better track prepped car for the price.
Sounds like you got a great deal on a fun car. I've been ax'ing the STi and when I get more comfortable and have a little more cash I want to get a track car and just use the STi for street duty.

That's understandable. Nothing wrong with that. One thing that I think Ford does very well with the Mustang is the parts support through Ford racing. Some pretty sweet parts at great prices. Also, there a several companies soley devoted to race suspensions on Mustangs. I think a well set up Mustang is probably a hoot to drive.

I wasn't comparing wheel horsepower because he never said what his was. All I was saying is unless he got some sort of FI I doubt he would keep up with my buddies cobra. He runs low 11s spinning nittos in 1st through 3rd, no nos, he can't put straight slicks on because he will snap is axle. And when his kenne bell gets installed say good night.

I work with a guy that had a STG 2 Roush, I think it was a 2k, and we ran a few times. The only work done to the car at the time was gears, 3.73s I think. When going from a 30 mph roll I was able to pull a car on him initially and stayed out front until that long shift into 5th (which I didn't want to beat on) at which point he pulled me pretty hard. I actually spent a few nights under that guys car helping him bolt-up longtubes (a ****ing nightmare!) and he did some more work to the exhaust/ swapped out some intake components (bolt-on stuff). When we raced the next time it was 8th mile and I was able to rip him up, he just couldn't hook the car. Unfortunately the dumbass traded it in for a Toyota pick-up and we never had the chance to take it to the 1/4 mile on a cool night (people we work with give him hell b/c he traded his car after losing to a 4cyl import).

All I'm really saying is that I have a little experience with lightly modded GTs and I don't have any problems giving them respect, especially when its above 80 and I'm dropping it into 5th. I would bet his car with cams would have pulled me about the same as you pulled that car in the vid.

Goodluck with 11s, the biggest gains you can probably get out of your car at this point (w/o FI or spray) is in the suspension and tires. Make sure you get it on vid when it happens and come back to post
