2000gt4.6 - you don't sound like a dick; nice to see. good kill.

regarding the 420 whp and 11s; i have a friend with an 03 terminator with good amount of work putting down 460 whp with a 1.8 60' and he was able to put in a 12.1 - so you may not be able to get that break into the 11s.

oh yeah, welcome to the site.

Hell, he had 1/2 a car on me when we started anyway. And in any case, even with that killer launch on me, I was able to pull him in on the top end. After he shifted into 4th I was putting it on him HARD till we let out. Him pulling on me in 5th would be impossible as the car sits now. My camshafts make power right up till I reach the RPM limit of the stock bottom end
I've really never seen anyone take off *ON* 3, but if that's what you guys both agreed to, then cool...
For someone to see the video who wouldn't know that you guys discussed going *ON* 3, it looks like you jumped the gun by doing 1, 2 ,then *GO* and 3 at the same time... I guess I'm just used to everyone doing 1,2,3 then go right after 3.
Oh well, no big deal if the guy in the STi knew what was going on

Ummm. I said NOTHING of the sort. In fact, I was complimiting your car. Said I would own one?? Wtf?

My point is, alot of you were saying it was a big overmatch and I had alot more mods than him. All I said was I don't have that much done, (at least power modifications) and our mods are fairly similar.

Whats your problem?? I didn't post the video on your website. I heard someone posted it on here and I thought i would check out what your saying, and several people are bashing me.

Is it really so hard to believe that a boltons/cam'd GT could fairly beat a boltons no tune STI??

The cobras are competely different though. LOTs more wieght. On the mustangforums, where the original poster here got my video, there are several vids of a 415 RWHP car going 11.60s pn slicks and 3.73s. I am not setup for slicks yet, but on d/rs he is running 11.89s with a 1.75 60'. He is running a set of adjustible front shocks and a few other things.

The cobras also have a IRS, and I have a soild axle (lot of the wieght there). Its hard to get the IRS to launch right, they wheelhop real bad.

Thanks for the welcome. Most of you guys are pretty cool, probably because you actually have pretty fast cars. Mustang Forums has a few import bashers, and most of them are running high 14s lol.

What you do have to take into consideration is it's a V8 vs a 4. The best thing you can do to a NA mustang is gears and exhaust. If you have cams I'm sure you have an intake and throttle body. On these cars thats as about as far as you can go staying naturally aspirated and not breaking the bank. Either way I am very surprised the STI didn't take it.

Now that we have the Mustang owner here, I just want to remind both sides to keep it civil or the thread gets closed. So far it has been fairly good. We're all enthusiasts here!

Not that it really matters but the same could be said that you are comparing a 4.6L V8 to a tiny 2.5L H4...almost half the displacement and half the cylinders. The cost argument really isn't a good one. A typical counter argument would be that I could buy a hatchback Civic for a couple grand, then drop $10k into an engine swap/turbo application and argue that I only spent $12-14k to be much faster than a $25k car. Also, the 04/05 STis were $31/$32k MSRP respectively - most people here seemed to get them for $30k.

While I'm not a big fan of the pre-05 Mustang GTs, I must admit, they do sound awesome and when well modded, are certainly nothing to scoff at. Though, once that STi gets a tune (especially a Protune/ECUTek instead of OTS), it will get quite a bit quicker.

Welcome to the forums!

I must have mistaken you for the "look even with some modifications I still spent less money than you did and I can still spank your car" type of person (i.e. most SRT-4 owners) and If I did, I apologize.

well, if all that is the case, (and i am by no means a mustang expert ), then i would wish you luck breaking into the 11s!

there are plenty of fast cars on many forums, and there will be bashers everywhere you/we go, so the best thing to do is weed out the stuff we know is incendiary and get to the "better" posts.

hopefully you will stick around, it's good to have car enthusiasts from other forums visit here - well rounded opinions are based off of facts and listening to other opinions.

Whaaa...this is this guys video...he has every right to come here and stick up for himself. Esp after all the STi fanboys burned on him for IMO no reason other than owning a Mustang. This guy has been cool..show his a little respect.
