Wow, all it takes is a video to start some personal attacks. Let me say this:

Anymore personal attacks will lead to a warning and possible ban. Just say your peace about the video if you must but I don't want to see any personal attacks on other members by anyone.

And that's great the Scion can do that. I just browsed the Scion forums and saw where the vendor posted this vid and then later on the guy in the STi posted and said he was trying to race. The vendor claims the Scion is pushing 400 whp (I think he said whp) on stock block, pump gas, and alky injection.

And for all of those that bought the STi does it really matter if a Scion can beat you? If they can, great for them. I respect a Scion that can do that but they still aren't my cup of tea.

Guys calm down.

If you want to feel good about something, atleast you can feel good that the Tc shown is on the upper echelon of its power application. You can also almost garuntee that she is going to pop her top with-in 10k miles.

Oh yeah, and all the Toyota supplied S/C kits run like 7 or 9psi tops and make like 200whp tops.

Good race, win for the TC.

Exactly. Hats off to the Scion, but I still wouldn't own one.

I guess telling people to "quit making excuses for an STi's loss" really seems to get under peoples' skin.

I'd like a 400hp Xb, that would be t!ts in my book!! Also, I think if you make a N.A. engine forced induction, then that constitutes as heavily modified. Forced to more forced, not heavily modified, since the majority of the parts were already there. Anyway, that Scion looks hella good too.

I think Scion's supercharger kit will raise hp to around 220 hp.

That car did not sound good. It clearly sounded very unhealthy.

220 crank hp is less then 200whp. Just got done talking with my Tc friend...he says they make around 190-200whp.

With intake header and exhuast they make around 215 whp. With all of the above plus pulley they make around 230whp.

That's still not bad for a car that weighs about 2800-2900 lbs. Keep in mind that an STi weighs about 300 lbs more and makes about 230 whp in stock trim.

I think he meant that it takes at least tuning, if not more like injectors, pump, etc, etc. Not just a turbo and an exhaust will work on a NA car alone...some tuning needs to be done.

I never said that you said it was bad. I WAS comparing it to an STi. Isn't that what this thread is about? An STi Vs. a Scion?

No doubt! It sounds as if that car didn't have any tuning whatsoever. It sounded as if that Scion just had the turbo strapped on, and the guy just went out driving.

I wouldn't doubt if that motor has already flipped its lid....

Another thing to think about guys is different gearing between the two cars and the STi's higher drivetrain losses.

2 thumbs up if the tC won...the STi isn't the fastest car in the world.

Maybe they should go on that show PINKS. Then we'll really see who has the fast car. (Lose the race lose your car.)

I guess I should've mentioned the drivetrain loss with the STi, but I figured I made that clear when I made mention that the STi weighed about 300 lbs more than the Scion and was making 230 whp compared to the Scion's 200 whp.

+1 on the STi not being the fastest car on the road, but there seems to be a lot of denial floating around......Some people don't know where the fantasy ends and the reality begins.
