Sure it's an STi and not a WRX? ( I can't tell) If it is it's an 04. I have an 04......hmm....I'm gonna go check some thing be right back.........................

This is kinda old. It was caused by a defective coilover (JIC I believe) shortly after JICs were no longer the darling of the online forums like they used to be. there is a thread about it here that showed all the details including detailed pictures of the defective strut itself.
