IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | I didn't feel like typing all this stuff again, so I cut and pasted it from my post on NASIOC. We had a Skidpad School/Testing day recently, which included some pretty impressive cars and numbers. All the results are included on the video. I ended up getting stuck driving my wife's Oldsmobile Alero with stock suspension, which I thought was going to suck, but I posted some fairly impressive numbers for such an awkward car. The best part of the day was when the Porsche 908/02 ran. The car ran in a few endurance races in the late 60's, was in a DVD called Plastic Porsches, and (if I remember correctly) was previously owned by Nicki Lauda. Even though the car's technology is almost 40 years old, he still ended up beating everyone else who showed up. The video may be boring to some of you, but I know a few of you will really appreciate it. If you'd like to know what tires/setup someone is running in the video, just ask. My wife was running Hankook Ventus RSII z212's in 225/45/16 on her car. Enjoy... Skipad Video This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | lol...that's what I like to hear. I think I might put (o) in the title of each of my video threads from now on, as long as no one thinks it looks too much like a boob. That STi can be seen at www.SkuttleMotorsports.com. There's some pretty cool in-car and on-car videos of his STi there, too, including the "fun runs" we got to do at the end of the event (running half of the road course at full speed) and of his HPDE at Mid-Ohio Raceway. He's got Cobb Stage 2 w/high-flow cat, HKS coil-overs, Whiteline adjustable f&r sway-bars (IIRC), HKS Ti Cat-back, ~3 degrees camber , and Hoosiers. I may be forgetting something or just not aware of it.The other STi (Pewter? Dark silver?) is debadged, dewinged, and has WRX foglights. It also has a 3" TBE w/stock muffler and I'm pretty sure he runs Hoosiers. I dunno if there's anything else done to it or not. The owner of the Porsche 908 did a ride-along with him and when they came back, he said "That's a really nice car...I thought it was going to be a piece of [explicit]." She's getting pretty good. Here's the [edited] results from the last autocross we went to. I'm Troy Morgan, don't flame the car . She's April Morgan. I was just trying to give you an idea of just how close she came to catching up to me at this last event. My car has Addco front and rear sway-bars, TRW progressive rate rear coils, front stb, polyurethane sway-bar bushings, 17" wheels, JET "stage 2" chip, intake, exhaust, Performance Friction brake pads, 2 more cylinders, and weighs about 200 lbs less...she has a PaceSetter ceramic coated header, AEM short ram intake, Performance Friction brake pads, and some stickier tires. And less experience lol.31 sts 166 Troy Morgan - Pontiac Grand Am 64.071 0.059 8.024 32 dm 143 Matthew Pelurie - Honda Civic 64.126 0.055 8.079 33 ds 43 Robert Godbey - Subaru WRX 64.484 0.358 8.437 34 hs 257 Brent Maynard - Scion tC 64.929 0.445 8.882 35 as 2 Fred Griffin - Porsche 986 65.160 0.231 9.113 36 stx 189 Brent Sturm - Subaru WRX 65.172 0.012 9.125 37 sts 130 Patrick Day - Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder 65.550 0.378 9.50 38 sts 228 Apirl Morgan - Olds Alero 65.569 0.019 9.522 39 fs 74 Jim Crum 65.628 0.059 9.581 40 fs 158 Liam Dagget - Nissan 300 ZX 66.684 1.056 10.637 41 csp 340 Mickey Childers - Dodge SRT-4 66.893 0.209 10.846 42 sts 36 Shandy Broom - Acura Integra 67.091 0.198 11.044 43 stx 24 Thomas Rice - Subaru WRX 67.101 0.010 11.054 44 stx 98 Patrick Justice - Subaru WRX 67.728 0.627 11.681 45 em 68 Ed Combs - Mustang GT 68.081 0.353 12.034 46 sts 95 David Terry - VW GTI 68.092 0.011 12.045 47 sts 402 Chris Terry - Dodge Neon ACR 68.438 0.346 12.391 48 es 360 Jennifer Lynch - Miata 68.641 0.203 12.594 49 sm2 515 Joey Anderson - Toyota MR2 68.729 0.088 12.682 50 sm2 96 Josh Bostic Mazda - RX-7 68.908 0.179 12.861 51 hs 22 Sean Banerjee - Honda Accord 69.071 0.163 13.024 52 hs 255 Martin Bush - Nissan Altima SE 69.719 0.648 13.672 53 ds 256 Jeff Huffman - Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT 70.390 0.671 14.343 54 gs 258 Michael Richardson - Buick Reatta 70.916 0.526 14.869 55 hs 100 Stephanie Bush - VW Jetta TDI 72.195 1.279 16.148 56 sts 312 Ryan Thacker - Ford Escort 72.706 0.511 16.659 If you wanna know where the aforementioned STi's from the Skidpad Video placed, their names are Davis Powers (FajenSTi) and Caleb Nugent. 1 fp 55 Dan Whiteman - Porsche 911 56.047 0.000 0.000 2 em 357 Bill Gammon - Mazda RX-7 tt 56.385 0.338 0.338 3 asp 620 Brad Spurlock - Corvette C5 57.083 0.698 1.036 4 sm 555 Davis Powers - Subaru WRX Sti 57.912 0.829 1.865 5 sm 212 Caleb Nugent - Subaru WRX STi 58.891 0.979 2.844 6 cp 64 Sean Halloran - Firebird Formula 58.923 0.032 2.876 7 sm 222 Robbie Nelson - Lancer EVO 59.145 0.222 3.098 8 dsp 698 Doug Mann - Honda del Sol 59.184 0.039 3.137 9 cp 106 David Sigler - Camaro 59.381 0.197 3.334 10 cp 3 Jerry Chadwell - Mustang Cobra 59.520 0.139 3.473 11 sm 61 Martin Valent - Toyota Celica All-Trac 59.995 0.475 3.948 12 csp 28 Jim Pryce - Mazda Miata 60.403 0.408 4.356 13 cp 25 Dan Combs - Mustang GT 60.555 0.152 4.508 14 sm 201 Sam Caldwell - Subaru WRX 60.588 0.033 4.541 15 ss 206 Brian Estep - Corvette Z06 60.732 0.144 4.685 16 sm 2 Rick Thomas - VW Golf TDI 60.735 0.003 4.688 17 cp 200 Brian Boggess - Mustang GT 61.318 0.583 5.271 18 sts 50 Scott Byrne - Plymouth Neon 61.518 0.200 5.471 19 esp 32 Chuck Coffman - Chevy Camaro 61.607 0.089 5.560 20 sts 510 Jon Byrne - Dodge Neon SC 61.637 0.030 5.590 21 sts 59 Mike Terry - VW GTI 61.704 0.067 5.657 22 hs 13 Jason Vehige - Mini Cooper 62.158 0.454 6.111 23 cp 107 Bridget Sigler - Camaro 62.474 0.316 6.427 24 sts 63 Miro Valent - Toyota Celica 62.577 0.103 6.530 25 bs 1010 Kevin Smith - Mazda RX-8 62.905 0.328 6.858 26 csp 173 William Collins - Mazda Miata 63.229 0.324 7.182 27 es 187 Kurt Wielitzka - Miata 63.791 0.562 7.744 28 cp 134 Skip Carson - Mustang 63.796 0.005 7.749 29 sts 314 Matt Lambert - Honda Civic 63.923 0.127 7.876 30 cp 207 Bill Holt - Trans-Am WS6 64.012 0.089 7.965 BTW, Howdy Davis | |

| Silver Member | I had a '95 Grand AM that I traded in for my STi... and now that I think about it, I really should have kept that car, especially since I didn't get very much on the trade. I'm gonna feel pretty dumb learning to autocross in an STi, and getting whooped on by people with their stock beaters. Maybe I'll just have to convince my buddy to do some autocrossing too, and we can take turns learning on his girlfriend's Ford Escort wagon!! Then I could at least blame the car when I do horrible... |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | lol...just take it easy your first time out, and don't worry that some people may be able to say they beat your STi in a Golf Turbo Diesel. I beat Caleb in his STi the first time he came out, and now he finishes in the top 5. He just started earlier this year, too. |
